FC Barcelona have an important summer transfer window coming up. Deco doesn’t need to make many changes to the squad but there are a few positions that could do with better depth to compete across better fronts.
The Catalan club are 2-3 signings away from having a well-rounded team and one of the positions the club is looking to reinforce is the left wing. Currently, Raphinha is the only option that the club has to play in that position.
Ferran Torres is almost exclusively playing as a striker, while out-of-favour attacker Ansu Fati is closing in on a move to AS Monaco. Thus, signing a new player for that position becomes a mandate more than an option this summer.

Now, as per Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester United outcast Marcus Rashford is set to be available for a fee of around £40m this summer, with Barcelona among the list of clubs that have been informed about the situation.
Rashford fell out of favour under Ruben Amorim and was shipped out on loan to Aston Villa during January. The Englishman had a very decent loan spell under Unai Emery but an injury curtailed his progress, just when he seemed to be hitting some form.
Villa had the option to sign him permanently this summer but having failed to qualify for Champions League football, the English side decided against activating the same. Rashford has been on Barcelona’s radar for a long time now.

When in form, the 27-year-old is a fearsome presence on the right wing and at the fee that Man Utd are asking for him, signing him could have huge upsides. However, Rashford also has the history of having been extremely inconsistent.
Injuries have also played a cruel role throughout his career, not allowing him to ensure continuity at times. However, despite these caveats, no one can deny that Rashford still remains a talent who can change the game in an instant.
While Marcus Rashford may not perfectly match the prototype Hansi Flick envisions for a left-winger, his versatility and game-changing ability make him a compelling option. At £40 million, the potential upside is significant, provided Barcelona are confident in managing his fitness and form. With both club and player open to a move, it remains to be seen whether Barca will take the next step.
