FC Porto are moving to secure more of their academy talent, following the renewal earlier this week of 18-year-old midfielder Tiago Silva, viewed as one of his generation’s leading prospects. According to O Jogo, renewals are being advanced for Bernardo Lima, Yoan Pereira, André Miranda and Mateus Mide.

The four have been contacted by the hierarchy and talks are well advanced, with five-year deals planned alongside progressive release clauses designed to deter outside interest.

Bernardo Lima, Mateus Mide and Yoan Pereira are under-17 world champions and have impressed at Olival. Winger André Miranda has already debuted under Francesco Farioli, playing six minutes in the win over Arouca, before an injury expected to sideline him for a while.

The push forms part of a broader plan to make homegrown talent a pillar of the project led by André Villas-Boas, and to shield top prospects from European suitors through long contracts and protective clauses.

Tiago Silva’s new deal includes a clause that starts at 25 million euros and can rise to 35 million, with the same structure planned for the next extensions.
