Bayern Munich’s signing of Ismael Saibari is about to add another dimension to an already formidable attack. The Moroccan international has established himself as one of PSV Eindhoven’s standout performers and, after four full seasons as a first-team regular, is ready to take the next step in his career.
At 25, Saibari has the experience, versatility and mentality to make an immediate impact under Vincent Kompany. Get German Football News takes a closer look at the attacker…
Saibari’s biggest strength is his end product. While he is an excellent dribbler with the ability to beat defenders in one-on-one situations, what truly separates him is his efficiency in front of goal. He can finish with either foot, strike from distance, curl efforts into the corners or chip goalkeepers with remarkable composure.
His movement is another major asset. Saibari excels at finding space between the lines and timing late runs into the penalty area, making him a constant goalscoring threat. Off the ball, he also fits Kompany’s demands by pressing aggressively and tracking back consistently.
One of the most exciting aspects of a potential move is how naturally Saibari’s game complements Harry Kane. The Moroccan thrives alongside a striker who drops deep, receives with his back to goal and creates space for runners attacking from midfield.
Kane is arguably the best striker in the world in that role. His movement could allow Saibari to attack the spaces behind defenders in a similar way to how Jude Bellingham has done for England. Alongside Michael Olise’s creativity and Luis Díaz’s direct running, Saibari would give Bayern another elite goalscoring threat arriving from midfield.
Saibari is not a natural playmaker. His passing and vision are solid but not at the same level as Olise, and he is less effective when asked to dictate matches from deeper positions.
That is where Kompany can help. Bayern’s structured positional system allows players to focus on their strengths, and Saibari’s role would likely revolve around attacking space rather than orchestrating possession. With his finishing, work rate and intelligent movement already at an elite level, Bayern would be signing a player who looks ready to make the step up and who has all the tools to become one of the Bundesliga’s most effective attacking midfielders.
