Felix Magath 'to be considered' for Wolfsburg return as pressure grows on Bauer | OneFootball

Felix Magath is a potential option for a third spell at Wolfsburg, with Bild claiming that the club are considering bringing the 72-year-old back amid growing pressure on head coach Daniel Bauer.

Wolfsburg’s winless run reached six games at the weekend after a 2-3 home defeat to FC Augsburg. They sit 15th in the Bundesliga, level on points with St. Pauli, who occupy the relegation play-off place.

Managing director for sport Peter Christiansen has publicly backed the 43-year-old, saying there was no debate about the coach. Even so, Sunday’s away game could be decisive for Bauer’s future.

Magath previously led Wolfsburg to the Bundesliga title in 2007.

He is currently sporting director at Regionalliga side SV Viktoria 01 Aschaffenburg, and his last coaching role came in 2022 when he kept Hertha BSC up.
