Fenerbahce head coach Domenico Tedesco has been hospitalised with a serious respiratory infection and will miss Wednesday’s Turkish Cup tie. He has been discharged and is recovering at home in Istanbul.

The club said in a statement that his treatment for a serious infection is ongoing. He remains unavailable for first-team duties.

He was admitted earlier this week after contracting a severe respiratory illness, which was later identified as pneumonia. After urgent care, he was discharged to continue recovery at home.

The illness kept him off the touchline for last weekend’s 2-2 draw with Antalyaspor. Assistant coach Zeki Murat Gole will lead the side against Gaziantep on Wednesday.

Club medical staff are monitoring his progress and believe he could be back soon. If his improvement continues, he might return to the bench for the weekend league fixture against Samsunspor. Fenerbahce are four points behind Galatasaray with 10 matches left.
