Barcelona will lose Robert Lewandowski when this contract expires this summer, and fellow striker Ferran Torres could also depart during the upcoming transfer window. The 26-year-old is wanted by Paris Saint-Germain, who view him as an ideal replacement for Bradley Barcola, who’s poised to leave the back-to-back European champions.
At the same time, Barcelona are said to be preparing to offer Torres a new contract. His current deal expires in 12 months’ time, which is why efforts are already ongoing to ensure that he remains tied to the Catalans for years to come.
Torres has now broken his silence on the speculation surrounding his future at the La Liga champions, and as per Diario AS, he made it very clear that he is only focused on Spain right now, as he gears up for La Roja’s first match of the tournament against Cape Verde.
“I don’t know and I don’t care right now, what matters to me is the debut. Do I see myself still playing for Barça? I see myself playing this Monday against Cape Verde.”

Torres has been an excellent player for Barcelona over the last two seasons, and should he stay, he would be a key player in Hansi Flick’s attack – regardless of whether the Catalans manage to sign a star-studded striker. 40 goals and 10 assists since the start of the 2024-25 campaign is a very impressive return, so it would be a huge blow to lose that.
However, it would be a surprise if Torres departed. He’s regularly spoken about his delight at being a Barcelona player, and now that he holds a crucial role in Flick’s squad, it would be a surprise if he gave it up to join PSG. Despite this, the club cannot afford to keep his contract situation dragging on for too long.
