According to El Periódico Mediterráneo, a mural by urban artist 'TvBoy' dedicated to Ferran Torres, whose goal against Argentina won Spain the last World Cup, was vandalised overnight and covered in white paint.

The piece was in Barcelona’s Gràcia neighbourhood. It showed the Barça player in a Spain shirt kissing the World Cup.

After it was completed on Tuesday, numerous social media users posted objections to the work.

By morning, the mural had been marked with slogans against Spain and in support of recognising Catalan national teams, alongside the paint covering.

TvBoy said on his social channels that he will continue painting and that he is not afraid of the threats.
