FFF announces new Ligue 3 for next season, 18 clubs and €11 million

The French Football Federation said on Tuesday, after its executive committee meeting, that a professional Ligue 3 will start next season with 18 clubs. The division will receive €11 million.

The funding will be allocated through the club licensing system, alongside support for travel and relegation.

Controls on wage bills are also planned.

On officiating, the FFF intends to bring in measures to curb time-wasting and to allow temporary dismissals, subject to approval. A dossier has been sent to IFAB seeking consent.

Broadcasters will be canvassed for the new competition, with several already interested.
