Fifa has highlighted goalkeeper Nicole and forward Jhonson as Corinthians’ key figures ahead of the Copa das Campeãs semi-final against United States side Gotham FC on 28 at the Gtech Community Stadium. The tie, kicking off at nine thirty Brasília time, will be the Brabas’ first match of 2026.
According to Meu Timao, Fifa’s website ran a feature spotlighting players from the Final Four, which also includes AS FAR of Morocco and Arsenal of England. Both were pivotal under Lucas Piccinato in 2025, when Corinthians won the Brasileiro and the Copa Libertadores. The competition is the first women’s club World Cup.
Fifa underlined Nicole’s influence in the continental triumph, particularly in the final against Colombia’s Deportivo Cali. It highlighted her sharp reflexes, speed off her line, authority in one v one situations and comfort with the ball at her feet.
On Jhonson, the piece noted her status as a Brazil prospect, a goal on debut in a friendly against Japan and involvement in the Copa América title. It added that she converted the decisive penalty versus Deportivo Cali in the Copa Libertadores Feminina final, securing Corinthians’ place at this tournament.
Corinthians travel to England on 20 to complete preparations. They will also play on one February, either in the final or the third place match.
