In his final remarks, Filipe Luís said he makes mistakes and always takes responsibility, accepted some fans prefer a different profile, but said he has always felt connected to supporters regardless of what happens next.

He added that, if he is not there tomorrow, his love and affection for Flamengo will endure and he believes the fans’ for him too. He said scrutiny must exist, that criticism as a player made him better, and that he lived the best years of his life at the club.

Despite recent instability in 2026, Flamengo finished runners-up in the Supercopa do Brasil to Corinthians and in the Recopa Sul-Americana to Lanús of Argentina. They sit 11th in the Campeonato Brasileiro with one win from three matches, and came close to the Campeonato Carioca relegation quadrangular.

He departs with a strong record, having won the Copa do Brasil in 2024 soon after taking charge, then, in 2025, lifting the Campeonato Carioca and the Libertadores da América.
