From Viktor Gyökeres’ goal-scoring heroics to penalty-shootout heartbreak in Cardiff, the road to the United States, Canada, and Mexico has reached its ultimate crescendo.

All final matches are scheduled to kick off simultaneously on Tuesday, 31 March, at 7.45 pm GMT.

Final Four: Europe’s heavyweights face World Cup Play-off deciders

Path A: Bosnia-Herzegovina vs Italy (Zenica)

Italy find themselves one win away from finally exorcising their recent World Cup qualification demons.

The Azzurri impressed with a professional 2-0 victory over Northern Ireland to secure their place in the Path A final.

Consequently, the four-time world champions must now travel to Zenica to face a resilient Bosnia and Herzegovina side.

The Bosnians advanced after a tense 1-1 draw with Wales, eventually prevailing 4-2 in a high-stakes penalty shootout.

For Italy, however, anything less than victory would result in a catastrophic third consecutive absence from the global showpiece.

Path B: Sweden vs Poland (Solna)

A blockbuster clash awaits in Solna as two of Europe’s premier marksmen prepare to go head-to-head.

Sweden booked their final berth thanks to a sensational hat-trick from Arsenal striker Viktor Gyökeres, who dismantled Ukraine in a 3-1 win.

Meanwhile, Graham Potter’s side will host a Poland team that showed immense character to come from behind and defeat Albania 2-1.

With both nations boasting world-class attacking talent, this fixture is widely regarded as the pick of the play-off finals.

Path C: Kosovo vs Türkiye (Pristina)

Kosovo continue to dream of a first-ever World Cup appearance after emerging from a seven-goal thriller against Slovakia.

Their 4-3 victory has set up a historic home final in Pristina against Türkiye.

Moreover, the Turkish side secured their progress with a narrow 1-0 win over Romania in the early kick-off on Thursday.

While Türkiye represent the experienced favourites, the atmosphere in Pristina will provide a formidable challenge as Kosovo aim to make international football history.

Path D: Czech Republic vs Denmark (Prague)

Denmark reminded the continent of their quality with a clinical 4-0 demolition of North Macedonia to ease into the Path D final.

They now head to Prague to face the Czech Republic in what promises to be a tactically fascinating encounter.

In contrast, the Czechs endured a much tougher route to the final, needing a 4-3 penalty shootout victory to overcome the Republic of Ireland after a 2-2 draw.

Denmark’s superior firepower makes them favourites, but the home advantage could prove pivotal for the Czechs.
