Saturday’s reports confirm that Fiorentina have submitted a formal bid for Juventus full-back Joao Mario, who is not expected to be part of Luciano Spalletti’s plans heading into the 2026-27 campaign.

Fiorentina lodge €8m-€9m bid for Juventus full-back Joao Mario

According to the latest updates from Gianluca Di Marzio, Fiorentina have sent an offer to Juventus proposing a season-long loan deal with an option to buy for a fee in the region of €8m-€9m.

This is a deal that could move quickly and could reportedly be closed during the coming week.

Joao Mario joined Juventus from Porto in a €12.6m deal in the last summer transfer window, but made just 10 Serie A appearances for the Bianconeri before being sent out on loan to Bologna in a deal that saw Emil Holm move in the opposite direction.

Neither Juve nor Bologna decided to make either of those loan deals permanent, which saw Joao Mari return to Turin for pre-season.

The Portuguese full-back could potentially become Fiorentina’s sixth new signing of the summer transfer window, following their deals for Radu Dragusin, Viery, Alex Jimenez, Christ Inao Oulai and Arthur Atta.
