And best of all? It is all for free!
A conference examining the history of Celtic FC, going back to the club’s earliest days, will be held at Celtic Park. The details are:
• Saturday 6 June 2026 • 9.30am-1.30pm • Celtic Park (Number 7 Lounge) • https://celticfchistoryconference.eventbrite.co.uk
Although this is being held at Celtic Park, it is not an official club event and has been organised by various supporters with an interest in the club’s heritage. Celtic are however kindly providing the facilities for free ensuring there is no charge for supporters to attend.
Football history events regularly take place around the world. However, this is believed to be the first time that a history conference devoted to one single team has taken place anywhere.
All the speakers are Celtic fans with different experiences in researching and telling the club’s story. The topics and presenters are:

• Dr Joe Bradley – the story of Celtic’s formation • Dr Michael Connolly – the life of Brother Walfrid • Dr Margot McCuaig – “Why do so few women write about the club they support?” • Matthew Marr – ‘Dear GREEN Place – the story of Celtic FC around Glasgow’ • Stephen Murray – the work of the Celtic Wiki
There is no charge to attend but all attendees must book a place in advance. This can be done at: https://celticfchistoryconference.eventbrite.co.uk

The Eventbrite page also includes other information about the conference, including more information on the speakers and attendance arrangements too.
Join us for an absorbing in-person event where we reflect and engage about the inspiring history of Celtic FC.
Our group began not long after the sad passing of Pat Woods, Tom Campbell and David Potter. We aim to celebrate their legacy of writing and research and share a love of Celtic’s history.
We are a group of academics, educators, writers, podcasters, documentary film makers; all of us Celtic supporters. We all share an interest in developing and extending our knowledge and understanding of the history of Celtic Football Club.

Come along to find out about the wider social, cultural and political influences present during Celtic’s formation and early years. Learn about the story of our founder Brother Walfrid and engage in a critical review of the club’s heritage.
Take the chance to share your thoughts, view and stories about the remarkable and, in many ways, unique history of our Club.
