We are just 10 days away from transfer deadline day. Manchester United are known for late transfer deals, and they could have another in store on September 1.

Liverpool could likewise be busy before the transfer window closes. Their interest in Newcastle United striker Alexander Isak could materialise into a late move.

Here are five blockbuster deadline day Premier League transfers that could happen.

Alexander Isak to Liverpool

Isak has gone on strike at Newcastle to push through a transfer to Anfield. The Magpies have resisted the prospect of selling him, with no quality replacement found.

However, there could be a late twist to the transfer saga. The Magpies currently value the Swede at £150 million, having turned down a £110m bid from the Reds.

We won’t be surprised if the Premier League champions make an improved bid worth £150m, including add-ons, after the recent exits of Luis Diaz and Darwin Nunez.

Still, a late transfer could depend on whether the Magpies can adequately replace Isak. The Tyneside outfit may ideally want to sign two new strikers in the squad.

Lucien Agoume to Manchester United

The Red Devils are in the transfer market for an ‘athletic‘ midfielder. Casemiro and Manuel Ugarte got turns in the number six role versus Arsenal, but both lacked consistency.

Brighton & Hove Albion’s Carlos Baleba has been earmarked as a top target, but United have opted against a deal this summer due to the Seagulls’ hefty valuation of over £115m.

The focus could shift to a cost-effective signing so that the club can spare funds for Baleba next year.

In that case, Sevilla’s Lucien Agoume could emerge as a concrete option. The 23-year-old has excelled over the last 12 months and has impressed with his progressive passing.

He has fared better than Paris Saint-Germain’s Joao Neves in that statistic. The Frenchman could be signed for around £20m amid the tight financial situation at Sevilla.

Rodrygo to Manchester City

Manchester City have already bolstered their attack with Lyon star Rayan Cherki. The Frenchman made an instant impact by scoring on his debut against Wolverhampton Wanderers.

There could still be another addition to the ranks before the deadline. The Cityzens recently sanctioned Jack Grealish’s loan move to Everton, while James McAtee has moved to Nottingham Forest.

Pep Guardiola has blocked Savinho’s potential move to Tottenham Hotspur, but the north London giants could revive the deal after Arsenal hijacked their pursuit of Eberechi Eze last night.

If City were to open the door for Savinho’s switch, they could focus on landing Rodrygo. The latter should be tempted by the move, having fallen out of favour under manager Xabi Alonso.

The 24-year-old was almost an undisputed starter under Carlo Ancelotti, but has been an unused substitute many times under Alonso’s tutelage. He could be a regular starter out wide for City.

Savinho to Tottenham Hotspur

Tottenham received a major transfer setback on Wednesday as Arsenal beat them to the signature of Eze at the final hurdle. Spurs had a verbal agreement in place, but the Gunners hijacked the deal.

The 27-year-old had no qualms about joining the Gunners, having previously been in their academy. He has already agreed on personal terms and should undergo his medical on Friday morning.

Spurs now need to pursue an alternative in the transfer market. They could return for Savinho. The 21-year-old can play on either wing, but has been most successful from the left flank.

Guardiola blocked Savinho’s departure earlier this week, but we can’t rule out Spurs returning with an improved offer for the Brazilian to compensate for the untimely setback on Eze.

This would pave the way for City to make a big-money move for Rodrygo.

Alejandro Garnacho to Chelsea

Chelsea are aiming to make two attacking additions to the squad before the transfer deadline.

They are confident of landing RB Leipzig attacker Xavi Simons. Leipzig are in talks to re-sign Christopher Nkunku from the Blues as a replacement, and this could push through a deal for Simons.

Garnacho is the other main target for the west London giants. The Argentine is adamant that he wants to join the Blues and has already turned down an approach from Bayern Munich this week.

United reportedly want £50m for his services, while Chelsea value him at just over £25m. With the vast gap in valuations, this transfer saga could go right down to deadline day before a solution is found.

Garnacho has informed United that he is ready to sit on the bench for six months or even the entire season if he does not join the Blues before the transfer window closes on September 1.
