Flamengo were prepared to terminate Carlinhos’s contract to enable a permanent move to Cuiabá, but the deal collapsed and the striker remains with Remo.

At the start of 2026, Flamengo loaned the forward to Remo. With limited opportunities in Pará, he came close to joining Cuiabá in this window. According to Coluna Do Fla, the clubs failed to reach agreement even after Flamengo’s green light.

Remo owe the player R$ 500,000. As part of the proposed switch, Remo pledged to clear the amount in instalments and added clauses and conditions the player did not accept, so the operation was not completed in time.

Carlinhos was set to rescind his Flamengo deal and sign for Cuiabá on a permanent basis. After talks broke down, he stays available to Remo for the current campaign.

He joined Flamengo in 2024 after impressing for Nova Iguaçu in the Carioca, making 20 appearances and scoring five goals for the Rubro-Negro. In 2025 he was loaned to Vitória, then moved to Remo for 2026.

Flamengo now prepare to face Red Bull Bragantino on the second of April after the FIFA international window. Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Cicero de Souza Marques, in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
