Flamengo have confirmed the signing of goalkeeper Andrew from Gil Vicente, the club’s second addition for the 2026 season. The announcement came on Thursday, 15 January.

Andrew arrived in Rio de Janeiro on Tuesday, 13 January.

On Wednesday, 14 January, he underwent medical tests at Ninho do Urubu, then signed a four-year contract.

The 24-year-old was among the standout performers in the Portuguese league in 2025-26, earning the competition’s goalkeeper of the month award in October and again in November.

Flamengo’s proposal was 1.5 million euros, approximately R$ 9.4 million, plus 10% of any future sale, which Gil Vicente accepted to release the player immediately.

Strengthening in goal became a priority after Matheus Cunha departed for Cruzeiro. Beyond Agustín Rossi, the squad only had youngsters Dyogo Alves and Léo Nannetti in the role, so the club moved for Andrew.
