Flamengo face key deadline to have Paquetá eligible for Supercopa | OneFootball

Lucas Paquetá is back at Flamengo after a prolonged negotiation, landing in Rio to a warm reception, but his Supercopa do Brasil involvement depends on registration timing. According to Coluna Do Fla, the club face a decisive deadline to ensure he is eligible.

In theory, Flamengo could register him for the Supercopa until Saturday 31. Article 5 of the General Competition Regulations says eligibility starts the day after his name is published on the CBF’s daily bulletin, the BID.

So Paquetá must appear on the BID by Friday 30, otherwise Flamengo cannot include him in the squad on Sunday 01.

His arrival drew one of the biggest AeroFla receptions in the club’s history. The academy product met supporters, took photos, and sang and jumped with fans at the airport on Thursday 29.

On Wednesday 28, Flamengo increased their offer to West Ham from 41 million to 42 million euros, and the terms were accepted for an immediate release. The club will pay 15.250 million euros up front, around R$ 94.545, with the remaining 26.75 million euros, or R$ 165.84 million, in four instalments through 2028.
