According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo face a 54-day pause during the World Cup and will hold a training camp in the Algarve after a short recess.

Players go on holiday after the Brasileirão match against Coritiba at the Maracanã on Saturday 30 at 16:00 Brasília time. The squad will report back on 19 June at Ninho do Urubu.

Training continues at the CT until 28 June. The delegation then travels to the Algarve on 29 June, staying through 11 July. The trip is funded by an undisclosed company, so the club will not incur costs, and friendly opponents are still being assessed.

While part of the group is in Portugal, nine players will be at the World Cup. Brazil have called Danilo, Alex Sandro, Léo Pereira and Paquetá, and Uruguay have summoned Arrascaeta, De La Cruz and Varela. Colombia will take Carrascal, and Ecuador, Plata.

The official calendar resumes on 22 July, when Flamengo visit Chapecoense in the 19th round at the Arena Condá.
