Flamengo’s 1-0 win over Vasco was headlined by Carrascal, Léo Pereira and Cebolinha, according to Globo.com’s player ratings.
Emerson Royal drove play down the right with energy and quality. Daniel Sales, playing out of position, supported attacks and stood out before the break, though Paulo Henrique beat him for pace in Vasco’s best chance, which GB put wide. Plata started brightly and combined well on that flank.
Léo Pereira was Flamengo’s leading passer and twice forced Léo Jardim into saves from corners. Keeper Rossi had a quiet night as Vasco failed to register a shot on target.
After the interval, Carrascal settled it with a crisp strike, the move stemming from a Léo Pereira ball into the box that broke kindly after a defensive cut. Carrascal created throughout and won the most tackles, sustaining pressure high up.
Erick Pulgar kept circulation tidy, while Evertton Araújo completed the most passes and operated near the box to open lanes. Alex Sandro spent long spells advanced, aiding combinations on the left.
Bruno Henrique threatened with two headers, one drawing a smart save. Pedro battled inside and out, spun into space but shot off target, then teed up Plata to test Jardim from range. Everton, known as Cebolinha, was lively and kept shooting, but his finishing was errant.
Luiz Araújo lifted the press after the break with three attempts and set-piece menace. Samuel Lino’s cameo on the left unsettled Vasco and created openings. Léo Ortiz arrived after 40 minutes of the second half and was not rated, while coach Filipe Luís fielded an intense, dominant side despite limited pre-season and no plan to face Vasco again, echoing 2025.
