Flamengo remain upbeat on Lucas Paquetá after West Ham reject bid

West Ham rejected Flamengo’s bid for Lucas Paquetá on Friday 23, yet the club remain optimistic of a deal in this window.

According to Coluna Do Fla, the offer totalled 35 million euros guaranteed plus 5 million in add-ons, roughly R$ 217 million and R$ 31 million.

Flamengo’s board will meet to decide the next steps in the negotiations. The club believes it must adjust the payment schedule and the date the player could be released.

West Ham want to keep Paquetá until the end of the European season, as they are fighting to avoid relegation, while Flamengo are pushing for his immediate arrival.

While talks continue, Flamengo turn attention to Fluminense on Sunday 25 in the fourth round of the Campeonato Carioca. Kick-off is 18:00 Brasília time at the Maracanã.
