Flamengo restore seniors for Vasco clássico, Arrascaeta and Jorginho out | OneFootball

Flamengo are set to restore their senior core for Wednesday’s clássico against Vasco in the third round of the Campeonato Carioca. According to Globo.com, only Arrascaeta and Jorginho from the usual starters have not been named in the squad.

Jorginho had a tooth removed, so he misses out. Arrascaeta is still not in physical condition to play.

Coach Filipe Luís has also called up eight academy players, Camargo, Daniel Sales, Douglas, Guilherme, Iago, Léo Nannetti, Luiz Felipe and Pablo Lúcio. They featured in the opening rounds.

A poor start led Flamengo to revise their plan and turn to senior professionals for the Maracanã meeting.

The notable change is the return of the group that won the Libertadores and the Brasileirão in 2025.

It is not yet certain that Filipe Luís will field a full-strength side. The decision followed a cautious assessment by medical and fitness staff after only a few days of pre-season. The line-up will be announced in the team talk as usual.
