Flamengo rule out new deal for Cebolinha as exit options emerge | OneFootball

According to Coluna Do Fla, Flamengo do not plan to negotiate a renewal with Cebolinha as his contract nears its end. The forward could depart for free in December, or in the mid-year window if a proposal arrives.

A July sale would help the club claw back part of their outlay on the No 11. Flamengo paid €16 million (R$ 87 million at the time) to Benfica for the winger.

He was close to leaving at the end of 2025, though no deal materialised. After the Recopa Sudamericana, he said he believed this would be his final season in the shirt.

His spell to date has been affected by injuries and inconsistency. Across six seasons he has 21 goals and 25 assists in 183 appearances.

Even so, he is a multiple title-winner with Flamengo, including two Libertadores, two Copas do Brasil and other honours.

With Cebolinha available, Flamengo face Red Bull Bragantino on Thursday (02) after the FIFA date. Kick-off is 21:30 Brasília time at Estádio Cícero de Souza Marques in the ninth round of the Brasileirão.
