Flamengo is keeping a close watch on Vinícius Júnior and hasn’t ruled out the possibility of the Brazilian star making a return to the club someday. Sporting director José Boto explained that everything ultimately depends on the player himself and his desire to come back to the Brazilian league.

At 25 years old and under contract with Real Madrid until June 2027, Vinícius Júnior has yet to reach an agreement to extend his stay. Boto noted that if the player decides to return, Flamengo wouldn’t have to pay a transfer fee to Madrid. The comeback will only happen if the player truly wants it, a key factor according to the sporting director.

Back in 2023, Vinícius had already shown his affection for the club by coming to Rio de Janeiro to watch a match and promising a future return, even if that might take some time. Meanwhile, clubs like PSG, Chelsea, and Manchester City are also closely monitoring his situation.
