Andrew will make his Copa Libertadores debut for Flamengo after being named to start by Leonardo Jardim. The goalkeeper faces Cusco at the Maracanã at 21:30 Brasília time on Tuesday 26, in the sixth round of Group A.

According to Coluna Do Fla, he replaces Rossi, who has not been officially dropped and is likely to return against Coritiba on Saturday 30 in the Brasileirão. Andrew now has the chance to give Jardim something to ponder amid the first-choice keeper’s inconsistent form.

Andrew was a substitute in both Recopa fixtures this year and on the bench for the first five Libertadores rounds.

He has three international outings, all in the Europa Conference League for Gil Vicente, with one win, one draw and one defeat. They included a 1-1 draw and 4-0 win over Riga FC, before conceding four to AZ Alkmaar. He was on the bench for the second leg.

Signed at the start of the year, this will be only his sixth Flamengo appearance. The others were in the Campeonato Carioca, bringing four wins, two against Madureira and one each over Botafogo and Sampaio Corrêa, plus a defeat to Fluminense. All under Filipe Luís.

The result could leave Flamengo with the best overall campaign.
