Kaizer Chiefs claimed a hard-fought 1-0 victory over Durban City in a Betway Premiership clash at the Moses Mabhida Stadium on Friday.

Flavio Da Silva came off the bench to score the crucial goal for the Soweto giants in the 88th minute of the match.

As a result, Chiefs snapped a four-game winless run in the league and moved up to third place with 19 points from 10 league outings.

For Gavin Hunt and his troops, the defeat will be a hard pill to swallow as their goal was ruled out for offside two minutes before Chiefs broke the deadlock.

The KZN outfit sits in fifth place, having picked up 15 points in 11 matches, and are now on a two-game losing streak in the league.
