Sunderland are weighing a triple recruitment push as Florent Ghisolfi maps an ambitious summer rebuild ahead of the club’s next phase in the Premier League.
TEAMtalk reports that Manchester City’s Rico Lewis, 21 and valued at about £44m, is assessing his future amid limited minutes. Sunderland are listed among several suitors as he seeks regular football despite signing a long-term deal last year.
TEAMtalk adds that Sunderland are monitoring Blackburn Rovers defender Tom Atcheson, 19, priced near £10m, who has become a regular since his December debut, with Manchester United, Tottenham Hotspur and Newcastle also tracking him.
Sport Witness says Almeria playmaker Sergio Arribas, 24, remains on the radar at roughly £13m, with Ghisolfi a long-standing admirer and a move potentially revisited to add creativity.
Completing all three deals would total around £67m, underlining the scale of Sunderland’s summer plans.
Football Insider reports Chelsea hold strong interest in goalkeeper Robin Roefs, 23, who is valued at up to £60m, with Liverpool and Manchester City also monitoring. He is expected to return to the starting XI after the international break following an injury lay-off.
