Fluminense have earned R$ 109m from Gerson since Roma transfer

Trained at Xerém, Gerson continues to bring significant sums to Fluminense with every club change. Announced as Cruzeiro’s new signing this week, the midfielder will guarantee the Tricolor around R$ 4.5 million more through FIFA’s solidarity mechanism.

Adding up the original sale to Roma and the percentages received from all international transfers throughout his career, Fluminense has already collected approximately R$ 109 million from the player, considering values adjusted for inflation over the period.

Gerson joined the club at seven years old and completed all his development at Xerém. Promoted to the professional team at 17, he quickly became a starter in 2015 and one of the main names of the 1997 generation. His performance caught the attention of Roma, who paid 17 million euros for his signing.

At the time, Fluminense held 70% of the economic rights and received around R$ 45 million, a value that, adjusted for inflation, is equivalent to R$ 90.9 million today.
