Villa come forward on the counter-attack in search of a late leveller and Tielemens tries to find the roof of the net inside the area, but lashes over the bar.

How important could that goal be from Jorgen Strand Larsen in this Conference League tie? Palace burst forward from their own half on the counter-attack and Strand Larsen chips in from Kamada's through ball to put the Premier League side 3-1 up.

Forest have a good spell of possession and Omari Hutchinson tries to finish the move with a fierce finish, but Martinez clutches that shot easily.

Shakhtar are throwing everything at Palace in the Conference League and Dean Henderson makes a crucial save low to his right to keep the Eagles in front.

Palace look to end the half strongly and Sarr gets into a promising position on the right and his low cross can't find a teammate in the box.

Forest apply some late pressure against Villa as Nikola Milenković snatches at a first time half volley and shoots way over the bar.

What a stunning save from Emi Martinez. Gibbs-White cuts back to Igor Jesus, who passes towards goal, but the Argentina defender claws the ball off the line with a wonderful reflex save.

CHANCE VILLA

Ollie Watkins controls near the edge of the area and fires towards goal, but Ortega pushes away with a one-handed save.

Forest are building some momentum as Gibbs-White tries to pick out Wood in the Villa area, but the visitors defend well and concede a corner.

The Bundesliga side only trail for a few minutes and Vincenzo Grifo levels with a simple tap-in to cap a devastating Freiburg counter.

Palace ride their luck as Shakhtar shoot towards goal and the ball appears to clip Maxence Lacroix's hand, but no penalty given.

Villa put the press on Forest in midfield and work the ball to Youri Tielemens, who forces Ortega into a strong save.

Adam Wharton tries to squeeze a half volley in at the near post but the Shakhtar goalkeeper saves comfortably.

Forest work an early chance as Chris Wood lines up a volley from Omari Hutchinson's cross, Igor Jesus gets in the way of his attacking partner and the chance goes begging.
