Nottingham Forest have rejected Manchester City's opening bid for midfielder Elliot Anderson, with the club reportedly seeking more than £100 million for the England international this summer. City remain keen on the 23-year-old, The Athletic reports.
Both City and Manchester United have pursued Anderson ahead of the new season. It is claimed United are unwilling to meet a nine-figure price and believe he would favour City. It has previously been claimed owner Evangelos Marinakis values him at £110 million.
Anderson joined Forest from Newcastle United in summer 2024 and has since been one of the Premier League's standout young midfielders. He played every Premier League match, scoring four and providing four assists, and featured 12 times in Europe as Forest reached the semi-finals.
Asked about Anderson's future after the final league game, head coach Vitor Pereira said he could not predict the market and stressed the midfielder remains a Forest player, the Mirror reported. He added the club want to keep their core and add two or three to balance the squad.
Anderson is preparing for the World Cup in the US. In March he said his focus this summer would be that tournament.
