Fabio Capello believes Inter Milan have the quality and balance to win the Scudetto after watching recent performances at the highest level.
The former AC Milan and Real Madrid coach shared his thoughts in an interview with Sportweek, offering a confident assessment of the Nerazzurri’s title credentials.
Capello began by praising the standard of football on display in Italy, with quotes via FCInter1908.
“I was enthusiastic about a couple of matches I watched recently,” he said, referencing Inter–Napoli in Serie A and Roma–Torino in the Coppa Italia.
“Fast, intense games with few referee interruptions. Hopefully this is the right path to becoming competitive again in Europe, where these rhythms are normal.”
He added that this applies not only to clubs, but also to the national team.

When asked directly about the Scudetto race, Capello made his position clear.
“Inter are the team that have everything needed to move towards the title without further slip-ups,” he said, noting that the Nerazzurri have already absorbed four defeats.
“Now they’ll touch wood, but in my opinion, without injuries, they are equipped to handle both the league and the Champions League.”
Capello also defended Lautaro Martinez against criticism. “It’s everything else that gives value to his performances,” he explained.
“He creates space, moves constantly and helps his teammates attack.” By contrast, Capello used Christian Pulisic as an example of a different profile, strong on the ball but less influential without it.
On Federico Dimarco, Capello highlighted his attacking instincts. “I wouldn’t call him a defender,” he said.
“He’s a wide player with incredible shooting quality and a great sense of timing.” He closed with praise for Nicolò Barella, recalling how highly he rated him even during his early days at Cagliari.
For Capello, Inter’s mix of intensity, intelligence and depth makes them clear contenders.
