According to VI, Bristol City are set to bring in Gibson Yah from FC Volendam. Yah will leave the side that were relegated after just one season back in the Eredivisie to join Bristol City in the Championship. The 22-year-old midfielder only joined Volendam last summer but it is not surprising that, given the interest from Bristol City and Volendam having been relegated, Yah is ready to leave for England.
Bristol City were not the only side that were interested in Yah, but they were the only side to agree a deal with Volendam and the player to complete a transfer. Despite Volendam’s relegation, Yah impressed during his first season at the club, with 26 appearances and three assists. Prior to joining Utrecht, Yah had spent time at two different academies. Like many, Yah started out at Ajax but left the Amsterdam club to join Utrecht in 2022. He played three seasons for the Jong Utrecht side in the second tier of Dutch football before departing for Volendam just last summer.
Yah joins a Bristol City side that finished 12th in the Championship last season.
