As such, Kospo’s departure, reportedly for a fee of around only €400,000, came as a surprise, with a year left on his contract.

Kospo’s message to Barcelona

Following the announcement of the transfer, Kospo penned a heartfelt farewell to Barcelona on social media.

Hola Culers… There has been a lot of discussion and talk over the last few hours, so I would like to inform you that my time in Barcelona has come to an end,” he began.

“To be honest, I never thought about this day…. As a little boy, I always dreamed of playing for a club like this one day, and I had the chance. I’ve learned so much myself in those two years. From day one, I gave my all for this club on the pitch!”

“Unfortunately, in football, you have to make different decisions and accept them, which sometimes hurt a lot, but that doesn’t mean they’re wrong. Yes, it hurts, it hurts a lot, but I’ve taken responsibility to take a different path.”

Thanking the fans for the support he had received, Kospo added: Culers, thank you so much for how you perceived me as a player and a person, and for always hearing only good things about me off the pitch.

“My motivation continued to grow. I was able to experience incredible moments with the club that were simply extraordinary! I dreamed, and my dreams came true.”

He then reiterated the reason behind his move, saying: “I got an offer by a big club with a great project regarding my football career. The club really impressed me, and that’s also why I accepted the offer.”

Concluding, he wrote: “Two years ago, I presented myself with a three-year contract, and after two years, I’m saying goodbye… Barcelona, thank you! Culers, Muchas Gracias! It was an honour…. All the best and lots of love!”
