One former Chelsea player has tipped his previous club to make a ‘huge bid’ to try and sign one Premier League striker this month.

Chelsea keep being linked with potential new signings, and a new striker is clearly still on the agenda, whether they do that now or in the summer. Liam Delap of Ipswich Town is one of the main names we keep hearing linked with the club. However, there is another Premier League striker that one former Blue believes Chelsea could try to sign this month.

Chelsea have been linked with a potential move for Alexander Isak from Newcastle United fairly recently, and now, Pat Nevin believes they could accelerate a move for him once again this window.

Chelsea to move for Isak?

I can’t see it personally. I think it would take a HUGE amount of money to bring him in this month, and Chelsea just aren’t going to fork out that sum of money for just one single player, just can’t see it anymore.

But Nevin is making Chelsea fans dream…

“I would not be surprised if Chelsea made a huge bid for Alexander Isak this January if they get any sort of hint that he is available,” Nevin told Grosvenor Sport.

“Chelsea would love him. Having said that, I think he would be the best possible fit for Arsenal and if I was him I would be looking at that. Style-wise and technique-wise, can you imagine him playing in front of Kai Havertz and Martin Odegaard, it would be scary. Manchester United might also be involved if they hear that he is available, but I can’t imagine how Eddie Howe would feel about letting him go.”
