A former member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Real Madrid is primed for a return to the club over the months ahead.
The individual in question? Pepe.

Defender Pepe of course spent some of the finest years of his lengthy career plying his trade on the books of Real Madrid, between 2007 and 2017.
The Portuguese, now 43 years of age, only brought a close to his playing days in 2024, following a spell back with Porto.
As alluded to above, though, if the latest word stemming from the Spanish media is anything to go by, then Pepe will not remain away from the game for much longer.
As per a report from Real Madrid insider Jorge C Picon, citing Ramón Álvarez de Mon, ahead of Mourinho’s imminent appointment at the Bernabéu:
‘Pepe is close to joining José Mourinho’s technical staff at Real Madrid.’
