Former Santos coach Juan Pablo Vojvoda was cleared on Thursday by the STJD’s second Disciplinary Commission over his sending off against Mirassol.
According to Diario Do Peixe, the Argentine and Mirassol boss Rafael Guanaes were charged under Article 258 of the CBJD after both were dismissed following the 2-2 draw at José Maria de Campos Maia on 10 March, in the fifth round of the Brasileirão.
Referee Raphael Claus recorded in his report that, after full time, the two coaches argued and exchanged insults, prompting a brief commotion before they were restrained.
Article 258 covers conduct contrary to sporting discipline or ethics not otherwise specified, with penalties of one to six matches for athletes, coaches, doctors or staff, and suspensions of 15 to 180 days for other individuals.
The panel reached its decision by majority. Guanaes told the hearing it was only a contained flare-up. Vojvoda’s defence was led by Dr Marcelo Goes.
