Barry Douglas, a Championship title winner with Wolves, has retired from playing.
Douglas confirmed the decision in a social media post, saying it was time to say goodbye to the game and reflecting on winning titles in different countries. He expressed pride at fulfilling a childhood dream of representing his country and thanked the clubs and staff he worked with.
The Scottish versatile full back joined from Konyaspor of Türkiye and scored five goals in 42 games across all competitions. Wolves won the Championship that season under Nuno.
Following promotion he moved to Leeds United in a £3m deal. Two years later he played a part as they won the title and returned to the top flight.
Born in Glasgow, he came through Queen’s Park then spent three years with Dundee United. He switched to Lech Poznan, winning the top flight and a double in Poland, before moving to Türkiye ahead of his Wolves stint. After three years at Leeds and a short loan with Blackburn Rovers, he rejoined Poznan and won the Polish title again, finishing his career at St Johnstone last season.
