Fortaleza sell home rights for Palmeiras last 16 tie, switch awaits CBF confirmation

Diário do Nordeste reports that Fortaleza have sold home advantage for their Copa do Brasil last 16 tie with Palmeiras, requesting the second leg be moved to Arena Pantanal on 5 August at 21:30, with the CBF expected to confirm the switch in the coming days.
CEO Pedro Martins said the club’s debt stands at R$ 300 million. “We know securing a main sponsor is not simple. We know matchday revenues are not as we planned. We are trying to be creative,” he told ge.
The first meeting is scheduled for 2 August in São Paulo, kick-off 16:00 Brasília time.
The match had been due at Arena Castelão and is set to be switched to Arena Pantanal in Cuiabá. The sale is worth about R$ 2.2 million to the club.
Following relegation to Série B, Fortaleza have faced financial strain. Captain Brítez recently left after a disagreement with the SAF board, and attendances have been low this season.
Fortaleza visit Atlético-GO on Sunday 12, with kick-off at 18:00 Brasília time.
