Fortaleza ‘to sign’ Corinthians midfielder Ryan on loan with option to buy | OneFootball

Corinthians have agreed to loan midfielder Ryan to Fortaleza, with an option to buy included. According to Futebolês, the agreement is in place.

The loan was envisaged as part of the arrangement to sign Matheus Pereira, who is in São Paulo to spend a year at Parque São Jorge. The parties had been awaiting approval from the No 37’s representatives before advancing the release.

Ryan is now set to travel to Fortaleza to sign. He was promoted to the first team after winning the 2024 Copa São Paulo de Futebol Júnior and has since made 59 appearances, 22 as a starter, with one goal and two assists.

His exit means Corinthians currently have three players out on loan. Right-back Léo Mana is at Criciúma until 31 July, while Ecuadorian left-back Diego Palacios is with Karpaty in Ukraine. The club have also parted with midfielder Maycon and forwards Ángel Romero and Talles Magno, plus right-back Fagner. They are negotiating a temporary move for Ecuadorian centre-back Félix Torres to Internacional.

At Fortaleza, Ryan faces competition in midfield from Ronald, Zé Welison, Lucas Sasha, Rodrigo Santos and Pierre. Some of those players could depart as the club adjust to life in Série B. Alongside the national league, Fortaleza will contest the Campeonato Cearense and the Copa do Nordeste.
