FC Barcelona extended their unbeaten streak in the new season as they secured a solid 3-0 win over Getafe in La Liga on Sunday night.
A Ferran Torres double and a Dani Olmo goal helped Barça collect all three points at Estadi Johan Cruyff, days after they had beaten Newcastle United at St. James’ Park in the UEFA Champions League.
Given the recent workload and quick turnaround between games, manager Hansi Flick decided to give his Barcelona players the day off from training.
Despite that, SPORT reports that four players showed up voluntarily at Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper to train at the club facilities earlier today.
Indeed, Ferran Torres, Robert Lewandowski, Frenkie de Jong, and Wojciech Szczesny all arrived at the training facilities early in the morning and worked on their own volition on their scheduled day off.
Ferran delivered an exceptional performance on Sunday. He set the pace in pressing from the front and scored a brace, which could have been a hat trick had it not been for the crossbar.

The Spaniard is determined to establish himself as the first-choice striker, and his dedication and commitment are seen in his training on a day off.
Lewandowski is the player he is seeking to push out of the team, and the veteran, determined to remain the preferred No. 9, continued to work today after a rather dull display vs Getafe.
De Jong, whose contract renewal is not yet finalised, has been brilliant in midfield alongside Pedri, and continues to showcase his dedication to the club by actions like these.
The same holds for Szczesny, who never misses a chance to train, even though he is only a backup player and has not played even once this season.
Also present at the Ciutat Esportiva today was Lamine Yamal as he worked on his recovery from the pubic discomfort, before having to fly off to Paris for the Ballon d’Or ceremony later today.
Fermin Lopez also showed up the the training facilities in order to undergo medical examinations after suffering a groin injury vs Getafe.
