Barcelona’s financial situation remains delicate, particularly regarding La Liga’s salary cap regulations. Despite efforts to remain within La Liga’s 1:1 rule, things could get complicated for the Catalan giants in the summer.

Barcelona are working on securing new revenue streams and remain hopeful for a partial reopening of Camp Nou, which could generate funds.

However, as things stand, new signings will likely only be possible if players are offloaded, both to reduce wage expenses and generate transfer income.

Despite these constraints, the Blaugrana sporting management remains committed to squad improvements, reports SPORT. The plan is to bring in two or three players who will increase competition and fill gaps in the squad.

The priority targets include: a centre-back with Jonathan Tah being the preferred target, a new left-winger or a centre-forward, and a full-back – preferably on the right side.

Jules Kounde has performed well in the right-back role, but manager Hansi Flick and sporting director Deco believe the squad would benefit from a natural specialist. And Barça are currently considering four main options for the position.

Vanderson (AS Monaco)

A favourite of Deco, Vanderson is young but possesses experience at the top level, and has a playing style that fits Barcelona’s philosophy.

The AS Monaco defender has been on the Blaugrana’s radars for some time now, is seen as a target who would be financially viable and there is a belief that the deal could be activated without major issues.

Marc Pubill (Almeria)

A long-standing target, Barcelona nearly signed the Spain U-21 international from Almeria last summer, but the club’s registration issues ended up blocking the move.

However, the Catalans have not forgotten about the young right-back whose signing could become very affordable if Almeria get relegated this season.

Jeremie Frimpong (Bayer Leverkusen)

The Dutchman was heavily linked with Barcelona last summer soon after Hansi Flick’s arrival and it appears that he is once again on the club’s radars.

Frimpong is considered a world-class talent and a game-changer at full-back. However, his price tag could be a concern for the Blaugrana given their financial situation and as such, any move might depend on the club making a major sale.

Givairo Read (Feyenoord)

One of the rising young talents in the Dutch Eredivisie, Read has been offered to Barcelona and could be seen as a good, long-term investment with an eye on the future.

The youngster has made a big impression on the club scouts and is seen as someone with great talent with raw potential, although he lacks the experience at the top level.

Ultimately, Barcelona’s ability to sign a full-back will depend on available funds. While some targets, such as Vanderson and Pubill, are more financially feasible, Frimpong remains the dream signing – if the club can generate enough money through sales.
