Flamengo had seven players on international duty in the first round of friendlies, with four starting. According to Globo.com, De la Cruz and Danilo stayed on the bench.

First-time Brazil call-up Léo Pereira started against France, played 90 minutes and was busy in buildup. He erred before the first French goal and was booked in the first half for a late challenge on Olise.

Gonzalo Plata started Ecuador’s draw with Morocco, logging 91 minutes before a stoppage-time substitution. He set up Yeboah to score, missed a first-half chance and headed over, conceded a penalty on El Aynaoui and was poorly positioned on the equaliser. He had complained of pain but no injury was found.

Guillermo Varela also started and completed the match, producing a steady display in Uruguay’s draw with England at Wembley. One moment when Rashford ran past him drew attention.

Giorgian de Arrascaeta’s form remains patchy at club level and he struggled for Uruguay. He played until 42 minutes of the second half against England and was largely peripheral as his side saw less of the ball.

Jorge Carrascal came on after 17 minutes of the second half for James Rodríguez in Colombia’s defeat by Croatia. His display was questioned and he did not take the chance.

Brazil face Croatia on Tuesday at 21:00, with Uruguay meeting Algeria at 15:30 and Ecuador playing the Netherlands at 15:45 the same day. Colombia visit France on Sunday at 16:00. Danilo and De la Cruz could still feature.

Flamengo expect to have everyone available for the trip to Bragantino in Bragança Paulista. Selection will depend on fitness checks on return, though all are likely to be included. The club will assist Brazilian call-ups with travel to maximise Léo Pereira and Danilo’s availability for the Brasileirão’s ninth round.
