France depart for USA, Le Bourget to Boston flight as World Cup campaign begins

France have taken off for the United States, flying from Le Bourget to Boston as their World Cup campaign begins.

According to L'Équipe, the squad left on Wednesday afternoon, two days after the 3-1 win over Northern Ireland in Lille.

Players and staff boarded an Airbus 321 Neo after assembling at Le Bourget and are set to arrive in Boston overnight following a flight of just under eight hours.

Before rejoining the group, Michael Olise in Munich and Kylian Mbappé in Madrid fitted in quick return trips between Monday's match and the departure.

The FFF's social channels posted a photo of all 26 players on flight B0532, smiling. Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé wore sunglasses, while Olise and Marcus Thuram had their hoods up.
