France into World Cup semi-finals | OneFootball

The French national team, featuring Michael Olise and Dayot Upamecano, are through to the final four at the World Cup after seeing off Morocco 2-0 in Boston, USA in the quarter-finals on Thursday evening. Following a goalless first half, France took the lead on the hour mark through Kylian Mbappé, who had earlier missed a penalty in the first period. Six minutes later, Ousmane Dembelé sealed a deserved win for the dominant French, who had 22 attempts on goal to Morocco’s five.

Upamecano and Olise both played the full 90 minutes for Didier Deschamps’ side, but Bayern new signing Ismael Saibari didn’t feature for the Moroccans.

Following the triumphant display, Upamecano praised the togetherness within the French team in particular: “We all get on well off the pitch. Everyone wants to go as far as possible, and you notice that. Whether it’s in training or in little games, everyone wants to win, which is important. We have to maintain this team spirit,” explained the FCB centre-back.

Les Bleus will now meet the winners of Friday’s clash between Spain and Belgium in the semi-finals next Tuesday (21:00 CEST) in Dallas, USA.
