The French Football Federation announced this Saturday that it has changed its plans regarding Didier Deschamps' succession as head coach of the France national team.
The topic of who will succeed Didier Deschamps at the helm of Les Bleus has been a hot topic in recent days. But it now appears that the French Football Federation has made a decision regarding the timeline.
Speaking on Saturday, FFF president Philippe Diallo clarified his stance, increasingly ruling out the possibility of an early announcement. Initially, two options had been considered: naming the next head coach as early as the spring, or waiting until after the World Cup. However, this thinking has shifted in recent weeks for the 3F president.
"I told you I was considering two windows, the first in March-April or after the World Cup. Since the draw, I've continued to reflect and the trend is now much more towards after the World Cup. I think it's better to allow the team to prepare for the tournament in peace, and then we'll move on to the chapter of appointing a new head coach," he revealed at the 2025 Winter Assembly, once again delaying any decision regarding Zinédine Zidane's future.
