France welcome first 18 World Cup call-ups to Clairefontaine, others to join after finals

A World Cup feel returned to Clairefontaine on Friday as 18 of Didier Deschamps' 26-man France squad checked in to start their pre-tournament camp, less than two weeks before kick-off.
According to L'Équipe, the other eight will join later as they are involved in European finals, Maxence Lacroix and Jean-Philippe Mateta with Crystal Palace in the Conference League, and Lucas Hernandez, Warren Zaïre-Emery, Désiré Doué, Bradley Barcola, Ousmane Dembélé with PSG, and William Saliba with Arsenal in the Champions League.
Les Bleus will play two home friendlies, next Thursday against Côte d'Ivoire in Nantes at 21:10, then on 9 June against Northern Ireland in Lille at 21:10.
They are scheduled to fly to Boston after those games.
France open their World Cup campaign on 16 June against Senegal at 21:10.
