Ajax manager Francesco Farioli responded to the recent rumors linking him with Roma’s head coaching position ahead of next season.
On the eve of the Europa League match between Rigas FS and Ajax, Francesco Farioli commented on the rumours about his future to the Dutch TV channel Ziggo Sport.
“I receive a lot of calls in general,” he said when asked about whether Claudio Ranieri had reached out to him in recent days.
“Talking to colleagues, as well as other coaches and directors, is part of my job. That’s how it works,” Farioli added.
“We talk about the next opponents, the players. It’s quite normal, that’s it.”
Then, “You’re starting to know me well. You know my dedication to the club. There’s little to say, gossip or rumours, that’s it.”
In the press conference, Farioli dodged the journalists’ questions by asking to talk about the match: “The reality is that there is nothing bigger than Ajax, I think I have demonstrated my loyalty to the club enough this season.”
