His agent Mario Giufreddi spoke to at an event at the Coverciano today. He was asked loads of questions about his clients and he placed special emphasis on Pio Espisito, his development and plans for the long-term future.

He said – via Calciomercato: “He’s happy at Inter. I think the boy and the club want to stay together for the next 10 years.”

Giufreddi also revealed that unless Inter intend to sell Pio Esposito, he will not be actively seeking an exit from the Nerazzurri.

“Thinking about the transfer market for him… Unless it’s Inter’s wish, it’s not my wish or the boy’s. For me, the transfer market for Pio Esposito has never started and never will. He’s happy to stay and pursue his career at Inter.”

He also expressed belief that the youngster has exceeded expectations this season. He was on loan at Spezia last season but is now a renowned talent across the continent and the global game.

“I don’t agree with the term “first choice.” We need to be good at contextualizing moments. Esposito came from Serie B. We had to carve out a space for him. He had to prove he was worthy of Inter.

“We exceeded our expectations for a 2005 player at a team like Inter. He scored 12 goals for his country and club, in the Champions League, and in the league. We exceeded expectations, beyond all points of view. “First choice” isn’t the most appropriate term.”

Arsenal have previously been mentioned as a possible suitor for the Nerazzurri striker. But it seems like the player isn’t keen at all on an exit anytime soon.
