Frank Lampard admitted that he some big decisions to make ahead of Coventry’s clash against West Brom this weekend.
The City boss said: “We’ve got options at the back and that means everyone has to be on it all the time. The centre-back position can be a conundrum you need four because three isn’t enough.
“All the centre-backs trained at a high level going into Middlesbrough and you saw that in the performance of Bobby and Joel. I can trust Wolfie and Kit too.”
Bobby Thomas is expected to start though, as he came straight back into the fold after suspension.
Lampard said: “Bobby’s been a big part of my time here. His development from day one to now shows it. If he’s is consistent with his focus and training, he’s, for me, if not the best centre-back in the league, one of them.”
The Sky Blues are currently top of the table after beating former leaders Middlesbrough 3-1 on Monday night. Their opponents, West Brom, haven’t won a game in 2026 and sit in 21st position, just two points above the relegation zone.
New boss Eric Ramsay has been tasked with keeping Albion up after Ryan Mason was sacked in the new year.
Lampard said: “I know Eric a little bit from his time at Chelsea. It’s not easy coming into this league. I wish him really well and obviously, we’ll go up against him tomorrow.”
