Davide Frattesi admits he ‘was celebrating so much I was dizzy’ and nearly had to come off after scoring to give Inter the 4-3 victory over Barcelona and qualify for the Champions League Final.
It was an extraordinary night at San Siro, as the Nerazzurri had already drawn the first leg 3-3, were leading 2-0 here until fumbling it to trail 3-2.
Francesco Acerbi fired in at the 93rd minute to force extra time with his first ever Champions League goal at the age of 37, then Frattesi secured the 4-3 victory to win 7-6 on aggregate.
It sends Inter into their second Champions League Final in the last three years, so they will face either Arsenal or Paris Saint-Germain in the Final in Munich on May 31.

“I was fortunate to see out the game, as I was celebrating so much I was dizzy and nearly had a blackout! I have to thank the physios, because yesterday I had an abdominal strain, so they did incredibly work getting me fit for this match,” Frattesi told Sky Sport Italia.

The former Roma and Sassuolo midfielder had also found the net in stoppages to give Inter the victory against Bayern Munich in the Champions League quarter-final, so evidently he is the last-minute man.
“It’s just incredible, I don’t know what to say. I thought after the Bayern Munich game I couldn’t repeat that emotion, but it was even more incredible tonight. This is the beauty of football.”
Lamine Yamal has won plaudits for his amazing talent at the age of 17, but Frattesi admits he brings something different and just as important to the game.
“This has been my career, really. I wasn’t blessed with incredible talent, but I am the last to give up and the first to believe, so this is a reward for effort and dedication.”
The Inter players looked positively exhausted by the final whistle of 120 minutes under the rain at San Siro.
“I couldn’t believe it, but once we were on 3-3, I told Marcus don’t worry, we’ll go through. I was exhausted even before I came off the bench, as we were standing up and screaming constantly, with hands in our hair at every move, so we practically played along with them!” confessed Frattesi.
