FLW's West Brom Fan Pundit has explained where he sees Karlan Grant's future - it's not at The Hawthorns.
This article is part of Football League World's 'Terrace Talk' series, which provides personal opinions from our FLW Fan Pundits regarding the latest breaking news, teams, players, managers, potential signings and more…
West Bromwich Albion have had a difficult 2025/26 campaign, and following Ryan Mason's departure, those at The Hawthorns will be looking to impress the incoming boss.
The former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder was sacked earlier this week following the Baggies' 2-1 away defeat to Leicester City, their 10th loss on the road in succession in the league.
Currently sitting seven points above the relegation zone, the West Midlands outfit are in desperate need of creativity and goals going forward, with only one club (Swansea City) above them in the Championship table having scored fewer goals (32) over the course of the opening 26 games.
Change is needed, and with it looking likely that Eric Ramsay will take charge in B71, Karlan Grant will be looking to prove his worth with his contract set to expire at the end of the season.
It's been five years since Grant made the switch to West Brom from Huddersfield Town, with BBC Sport reporting that the attacker cost the Baggies £15m.

However, after nearly six years at the club, the 28-year-old's time at The Hawthorns may well come to an end at the end of the 2025/26 campaign, and Football League World has asked their West Brom Fan Pundit, Callum Burgess, if the former Terriers ace should be handed a new deal.
He told FLW: "I think that the end of the season would be a natural conclusion to Karlan Grant's time at The Hawthorns. I think that he has enjoyed some sort of redemption arc, going from a player who wasn't very popular with the fanbase, even when he was our top scorer, scoring nearly 20 goals in the 2020/21 season.
"When he returned from Cardiff on loan under Carlos Corberan, he had that season where his work rate went up tenfold, and even though he wasn't hitting the numbers that he used to, his popularity with fans definitely increased because of his output without the ball."
Callum continued: "But I think that spending £15m on him, with his goals and assist numbers nowadays, and while he has come into some form recently and scored against Leicester, of course, I think that it’s an example of where wages could probably be spent better elsewhere.
"We need to try and get someone who's more of an outlet, more of a dribbler, because I think that Grant's a good finisher, but his all-round game can be improved, in my opinion."
Following a tough start to the season, Grant has found form in recent weeks and has been one of West Brom's most influential players. However, there is still much to be desired from the 28-year-old, who has scored just three league goals in 20 appearances this season.
He is yet to register an assist, although he has created 18 chances for his teammates and there will be questions asked about the Baggies' clincialness in the final third.
There is no doubt that on his day, the ex-Charlton Athletic forward is a real threat, but it has been four years since he reached double figures for goals in a season.

Last January, Derby County showed repeated interest in Grant, and perhaps the player himself may fancy a new challenge away from The Hawthorns later this year - especially if West Brom are unable to climb the league table.
